ST. PAUL, MN – Today the Office of Minnesota Management and Budget released a new budget forecast showing a projected deficit of $627 million for fiscal years 2014-2015.
Rep. David Bly (DFL – Northfield) released the following statement reacting to the February forecast.
“A projected $627 million deficit means the status quo of cuts and gimmicks isn’t working. We need to put an end to these perpetual deficits by moving Minnesota forward in a new direction.
Instead of relying on short-term fixes that hurt middle class families and our schools, DFL majorities plan to work with Governor Dayton to pass a budget that invests in our children’s education, reduces property taxes, and puts an end to the status quo of cuts, borrowing, and gimmicks.”
