ST. PAUL, MN — House Speaker Paul Thissen, State Rep. Tom Anzelc, and local school administrators will hold a “Back-to-School” roundtable discussion to provide information and highlight how the “education session” will positively affects schools and students in across the state. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 1pm at the Grand Rapids Public Schools Administration Building Board Room (820 NW 1st Ave. Grand Rapids, MN).
After years of disinvestment, the 2013 legislative session made a historic investment in E-12 education this session, including fully funding all-day kindergarten, increasing the school funding formula by $234 million — providing schools with an increase in funding in each of the next two years — and significant investments in early childhood education scholarships.
