ST. PAUL, MN. – State Representative Tom Anzelc (DFL–Balsam Township) was appointed by Speaker-Elect Paul Thissen to serve as Vice-Chair of the highly sought out Ways and Means Committee in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Additionally, Anzelc was picked to serve on several key House Committees including: Taxes, Education Finance, and Commerce and Consumer Protection Finance and Policy for the 2013-14 Session.

“I’m very excited to be assigned to these important committees and for the opportunity to help shape legislation in areas that will directly impact the residents of District 5B,” said Rep. Anzelc. “The Ways and Means Committee is where we work to establish the House budget resolution, as well as consider state fiscal policy. I am eager to bring the voice of northern Minnesota to the discussion,” added Anzelc.

Anzelc is committed to building a better and stronger future for the Northern Minnesota families, school kids, businesses, and senior citizens he represents.

“Fixing our tax system so it is fair and equitable and providing school funding so kids across the state have access to a first rate education are high priorities. I pledge to focus what we value as Minnesotans and those issues that will move us forward into shared prosperity. These committee assignments will allow me to help shape laws that impact the daily lives of my constituents,” said Anzelc.
