Legislative Update- March 31, 2016

Thursday, March 31, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

Last week, I attended a meeting hosted by the US-169 Corridor Coalition at the Capitol to answer any questions about upcoming projects along the US Highway169 corridor.  One of these projects is the 9-Mile Creek bridge replacement.

This November a portion of Highway 169 between Bren Road and 7th Street, just north of Highway 62, will close in both directors for nearly a year as MnDOT begins construction.  Other work on Highway 169 includes resurfacing between Highway 55 and Highway 62, adding acceleration lanes at Cedar Lake Road, various drainage, noise barrier, and guardrail repairs, and ADA upgrades. Along with the full closure between Bren and 7th, there will be periodic lane closures on other sections of the project.

I had one question: Is there any way this project can be expedited? While the US-169 Coalition members could not give a specific date of completion, they pointed out that the 9-Mile Creek bridge replacement is a priority project, and will do everything they can to ensure a speedy timetable while making the upgrade efficient.

As we gear up for this construction project, MnDOT will be providing traffic updates and impacts, along with alternate routes.  You can access the information here.

It is an honor to serve you in Saint Paul at the Capitol.

Sincerely,

Ron Erhardt

State Representative
