Curfew Extended; Metro Transit Service & USPS Update

Monday, June 1, 2020

Rep. Davnie

Dear Neighbors,

South Minneapolis continues to rebuild and rise up from the destruction of last week’s rioting. I continue to be inspired by each of you helping with these efforts and contributing to various financial recovery funds to help our neighbors in need. I’m pleased to share that as of noon, the Lake Street Coalition has raised nearly $2.4 million in donations. You can check out their website and consider donating here.

Curfew in Effect Monday and Tuesday

Governor Tim Walz today extended the temporary nighttime Minneapolis and St. Paul curfew through Wednesday morning to provide safety for Minnesota residents from individuals who have engaged in unlawful and dangerous activity in recent days and threatened the security of lawful demonstrators and first responders. The curfew for each night will begin at 10:00 p.m. and run through 4:00 a.m. Highway closures are not in effect at this time.

Metro Transit Services Halted Through Tomorrow

All bus and light rail service will remain suspended through at least Tuesday, June 2. An update will be provided no later than 6 p.m. on Tuesday about service the following day. Read more here: http://metrotransit.org/transit-service-suspended-through-at-least-tuesday-june-2

You can sign up for rider alerts here.

USPS Disruptions

USPS delivery may still be a bit spotty, so please be patient. Some mail, however, was lost. If you were anticipating medication or cash, please contact me or U.S. Rep. Omar’s office immediately.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

As a reminder, if you see anything suspicious from your home or in the neighborhood, please call 911. This is the latest guidance we have received from the BCA.
