Governor Dayton Releases Bonding Proposal

Tuesday, April 7, 2015
ST. PAUL— Today, Governor Dayton released his 2015 bonding proposal. The plan would invest $842 million statewide in needed infrastructure improvements and create an estimated 23,900 jobs. 43 percent of the proposed projects are in Greater Minnesota, including three projects in the Moorhead area.

"I applaud Governor Dayton for proposing an ambitious Capital Investment bill today,” said Rep. Ben Lien (DFL—Moorhead). "There is much to like for our district in Governor Dayton's proposed Capital Investment bill. He understands the needs of Greater Minnesota and the challenges posed to our district in terms of completing flood mitigation projects and rail infrastructure improvements."

Local projects include $5 million for MSU Moorhead to reroof the bookstore and update HVAC systems and ductwork, $5.66 million for the Oakport Township Levee, and $34.5 million for rail grade separations to improve rail safety in Moorhead.

The GOP controlled House has not introduced a bonding proposal this year.
