Legislative Update - March 25, 2015

Wednesday, March 25, 2015
Dear Friends,

It is a busy time at the Capitol as we are in second deadline week. This means that all policy bills that have been heard in either Senate or House committees need to again be heard in the opposite body. Because we have a bicameral legislature in Minnesota, bills need to be vetted and voted through in both bodies. Next week there will be no legislative business for Easter and Passover break. The legislature must come back afterward and finish our business by the constitutionally set deadline of May 18th.

Town Hall Meeting
Sen. Jim Carlson and I invite you to our town hall meeting on Saturday, March 28 from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Wescott Library. We’ll be discussing transportation issues with special guests Adam Duininck, Chair of the Met Council and Sean Rahn, Assistant Commissioner of MNDOT. Transportation is a hot topic this session as we work to address the neglected needs of our roads, bridges and infrastructure.

I hope you’re able to attend the meeting to learn and to share your views. If you’re unable, or if you’d like to get in touch on any other legislative issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-3533 or email at rep.sandra.masin@house.mn.

Sincerely,

Sandy Masin
State Representative
