News from Representative Petersburg 05-23-2015

Saturday, May 23, 2015

Dear Friends,

On Thursday students and staff from Waseca Sr & Jr High School were honored by the Synergy & Leadership Exchange for their work in creating a supportive and positive environment through excellence in character development. The presentation took place at the Capitol. Waseca Sr & Jr High School earned the top honor receiving the 2015 Minnesota School of Character award, something that I think our whole community can be proud of. Read more about their award in the Waseca County News here.

In the coming weeks I will have more information for you on the budget that was passed last week. Governor Dayton will be signing or vetoing the remainder of our budget bills this weekend, and has already vetoed the bipartisan education bill.

This will require a special session, something that is disappointing given the bipartisan nature of all of the budget bills that were passed. If you have questions in the meantime, please email me at
rep.john.petersburg@house.mn or call 651-296-5368.

I hope you have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend. Take time this weekend to reflect and remember those who died serving our country and fighting for the freedoms we enjoy today. I hope to see you at the Memorial Day services this weekend.

Take care,

John Petersburg
State Representative, District 24A
