Legislative Update - December 23, 2014

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

December has been busy so far, and looks to be so until the end of the month. I have been meeting with community leaders in preparation for the new legislative session, including discussions with the Burnsville City Council and Dakota County Commissioners. Look for the Burnsville City Council meeting discussions to be rebroadcast and available on local cable access.

The 2015 Legislative Session begins on January 6, 2015. I have received my committee assignments this week, they are: TRANSPORTATION POLICY & FINANCE, HHS REFORM, and AGING & LONG-TERM CARE POLICY.

Remember that Senator Carlson is hosting an Open House at the Capitol on December 27 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is a good opportunity to see the Capitol restoration in progress. Please click here for information about changes in parking and entering the Capitol during this phase of the construction.

This is the season when many of us focus on our respective religious heritage, holidays, and of course, our families and friends. It is a time for celebration. Wherever you are and however you observe the holidays, I wish you peace and joy.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions or concerns. You’ll want to update your contact info, as my new office number is 335 (State Office Building, 100 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, St,. Paul MN 55155).

Sincerely,

Sandy Masin
