MINNEAPOLIS, MN – State Representative Phyllis Kahn (DFL – Minneapolis) released the following statement after President Obama accepted the credentials for the new Somali Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke.

As a state legislator representing one of the largest Somali and Somali-American populations in the nation, I invite His Excellency to visit Minneapolis to work with our communities to continue advancing peace, economic opportunities and a brighter future for all.”
