Minnesota ranked sixth best state for business

Thursday, July 10, 2014

Dear neighbors,

Minnesota’s most recent jobs report shows that our economy is getting stronger, giving us good reason to feel optimistic about our future and the direction our state is heading.

Employers added over 10,000 jobs in May, helping to reduce our unemployment rate to 4.6 percent – the lowest level in seven years. A big reason behind our economic success is the fact that Minnesota is a great place to live, work, raise a family and do business.

In fact, Minnesota was recently ranked the sixth best state for business in the entire country! That’s a strong improvement from being ranked 13th last year and shows our economy continues to gain momentum.

The rankings, part of CNBC’s eighth annual “America’s Top State’s for Business” report, cite Minnesota’s “superior quality of life, a vibrant economy and a robust infrastructure” as a few of the major reasons for our success.

Over the next several days, I’ll share more of the latest news about our state’s positive economic momentum. Tomorrow’s update will reveal where Minnesota placed on Forbes’ rankings of the best states to make a living in 2014.

Sincerely,

Will Morgan
State Representative, District 56B
