Statement from Rep. Jenifer Loon on Sunday Liquor Sales Hearing

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Today in the House Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, an informational hearing was held on House File 231, Sunday liquor sales legislation authored by Rep. Jenifer Loon (R-Eden Prairie).

"I am pleased my bipartisan Sunday liquor sales bill received a hearing because it is time to repeal Minnesota's antiquated alcohol laws," said Rep. Loon. "This issue is important to small businesses and their customers who believe in economic freedom and personal choice. Today we heard from liquor store owners, consumers and an economist about the positive impact this legislation would have on Minnesota, helping our state remain competitive and giving people the convenience and options they deserve without unnecessary government interference."
