Republican Leaders Unveil Ten Year, $7 Billion Road and Bridge Plan

St. Paul, MN- On Monday, House and Senate Republicans unveiled their comprehensive, future-oriented proposal for transportation improvements. The plan invests $7 billion over the next decade without raising taxes. The ten-year approach prioritizes road and bridge infrastructure through:

  • Immediate repair of roads in Minnesota communities
  • Highway improvements for commuters and commerce
  • Reliable, long-term funding without raising taxes

Representative Josh Heintzeman (R-Nisswa) issued the following statement after the release of the plan:

“I am encouraged by the thoughtful approach this proposal takes in addressing the state’s transportation needs,” said Heintzeman. “Raising taxes does not need to be the default answer when discussing a long term transportation plan. Instead, our proposal will repair or replace 15,500 lane miles and 330 bridges without a tax increase.”
