Republican Leaders Unveil Ten Year, $7 Billion Road and Bridge Plan

St. Paul, MN- On Monday, House and Senate Republicans unveiled their comprehensive, future-oriented proposal for transportation improvements. The plan invests $7 billion over the next decade without raising taxes. The ten-year approach prioritizes road and bridge infrastructure through:

  • Immediate repair of roads in Minnesota communities
  • Highway improvements for commuters and commerce
  • Reliable, long-term funding without raising taxes

Representative Mary Franson (R-Alexandria) issued the following statement after the release of the plan:

“The overwhelming majority of constituents that I speak with are in favor of a comprehensive plan that fixes our roads and bridges without raising taxes,” said Franson. “Raising taxes should not be the only solution on the table to address this problem. That’s why our long-term plan will repair or replace nearly 15,500 lane miles and 330 bridges without increasing the burden on hardworking Minnesotans.”
