Legislative Update

Friday, February 27, 2015

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Here is an update from Saint Paul.

Starbase Minnesota

I am honored to have been recently named to the Board of Directors for Starbase Minnesota, a group dedicated to teaching students the latest in STEM education through hands-on experiences. From launching rockets to 3D design, this program allows students to learn valuable technology skills in new, exciting ways. The program has taught tens of thousands of students since it launched in 1993.

I was able to tour their facilities earlier this month, and was astounded by the wonderful work this program is doing. I look forward to serving on their board, offering insight as a former educator and legislator about how to bring a vital STEM education to more Minnesota students.

FFA at the Capitol

Forest Lake has one of the top Future Farmers of America (FFA) programs in the nation, and it was wonderful to visit with them at the Capitol on Thursday. Agriculture education is so important in Minnesota and FFA is a fantastic program.

Legislative Evaluation Assembly Awards Banquet

On Monday, I attended the Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota Awards Banquet. I was honored to speak at the event and receive an award from this wonderful group. I will continue to be a legislator who fights for free enterprise, limited government, and individual liberties for all Minnesotans.

State Wrestling Tournament

I would like to offer a special congratulations and wish Forest Lake High School Senior James Pleski the best as he competes for a State Championship at the state wrestling tournament this weekend. He is ranked #1 at 145 lbs in the state and is an excellent student athlete and competitor. Thank you for being such a wonderful student representative for our community!

As always, thank you for the honor and privilege of being your state representative.

Sincerely,

Bob
