ST. PAUL – Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, recently was elected as a co-chair of a group of legislators which advances the interests of Greater Minnesota.

Its official name is the Republican Rural Caucus. Anderson has been a member of the group since he began serving in the Legislature in 2009.

“Rural issues are front and center this session and I'm honored that my colleagues in both the House and the Senate have elected me to be serve as the co-chair of the Republican Rural Caucus,” Anderson said. “This group of legislators meets on a regular basis and works to solve the problems that we face in Greater Minnesota.”

Anderson is a lifelong resident rural Starbuck who also currently chairs the House Agriculture Policy Committee. He recognizes the challenges citizens in District 12B face and is eager to make improvements this legislative session.

“We see the crisis in the long term care industry as one of the biggest topics that need to be addressed during this session,” Anderson said. “Transportation and the over-regulation of our cities, businesses, and agricultural interests are the other major issues we will take a hard look at in the Republican Rural Caucus.”

Anderson encourages area residents to provide him with input regarding issues in Greater Minnesota by emailing rep.paul.anderson@house.mn or by calling (651) 296-4317.
