Legislative Update (Jan. 16, 2015)

Friday, January 16, 2015

Neighbors,

With just over one week since the beginning of session, I am very proud of the work being done thus far in the House. Thank you for allowing me to be your voice in Saint Paul.

Tax Conformity

Last night my colleagues and I passed our first bill of the legislative session, HF6. This bill brings Minnesota tax code into conformity with federal tax code, providing an immediate $19.9 million of immediate tax relief to many Minnesotans. I am especially proud of the tax deductions being provided to teachers, students, and homeowners across our state. You and your family will now be able to keep more of your hard-earned tax dollars. We are setting a great tone for the rest of the legislative session!

Learn More About Me

I sat down with House Information Services at the beginning of the legislative session to talk about why I ran, our district, your top priorities, and what items I would bring on a desert island. You can watch my interview here: http://bit.ly/1BCZZ8x.
