News from Representative Uglem 01-12-2015

Monday, January 12, 2015
Dear Friends,

Last week I took the oath of office and was sworn in for my second term serving the communities of Champlin and Coon Rapids. I'm excited for the next two years, and to be a part of the House Majority where I can continue working on legislation to help our community and improve the lives of Minnesotans across the state.

I'm currently working on legislation to add a lane to Highway 10 between Hanson and Round Lake Blvd. I plan to introduce that bill in the coming weeks.

I also am a co-author on House File 1, which aims to grow better-paying jobs in all parts of the state, and House File 10, which would provide a tax credit to businesses who hire veterans.

Veteran unemployment is higher than that of the civilian population, and with thousands of veterans now returning home from overseas, it's important we help our servicemen and women who fought for our freedoms, and make their transition back to civilian life a bit easier.

As always, my door is open and I hope you'll stay in touch as session continues. If you want to schedule a meeting, have a question, or would like to share your comments, please email me at rep.mark.uglem@house.mn or call 651-296-5513.

Have a great week,

Mark Uglem
State Representative, District 36A
