O’Driscoll Named Speaker Pro Tempore, Vice Chair of Commerce and Regulatory Reform

ST. PAUL — Representative Tim O’Driscoll (R-Sartell) has been named Speaker Pro Tempore by Speaker Kurt Daudt (R-Crown). As Speaker Pro Tempore, Rep. O’Driscoll will oversee and conduct House floor debate when the Speaker is away or unavailable.
 
“I look forward to leading floor debate and helping pass legislation that’s vital to Minnesota and beneficial to the hardworking folks of our state,” said Rep. O’Driscoll. “It’s an honor to have been chosen as Speaker Pro Tempore, and I look forward to bringing my legislative experience to this new role.”
 
Speaker Daudt believes Rep. O’Driscoll will be a first-rate Speaker Pro Tempore.
 
“Rep. O’Driscoll is not only an experienced legislator who will do an excellent job overseeing floor debate, but he also has a reputation for fairness among his colleagues on both sides of the aisle,” said Speaker Daudt. “With him helping to lead on the House Floor, we will be able to pass important, comprehensive legislation that will benefit the people of Minnesota.”
 
Rep. O’Driscoll will also be serving on several committees including Commerce & Regulatory Reform as the Vice Chair, Veterans Affairs, Capital Investment, Government Operations & Elections and Rules & Legislative Administration.
 
Session began on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
