2013 Interim Update: October 29

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Dear neighbors,

Living Wage Jobs Tour

The House Select Committee on Living Wage Jobs has been touring the state to talk to workers about improving job quality and prosperity. This month, we traveled to Moorhead and Bemidji where we discussed a wide range of issues including raising the minimum wage, improving on-the-job-training and ensuring that local workers are being hired for local jobs.  It has been interesting to hear from workers and businesses in different areas of the state about what they think would improve economic conditions for workers.

You can read about our recent Bemidji hearing here:

Metro Transit

I am excited to be attending an upcoming Metro Transit meeting to discuss the potential expansion of transit service in the region, particularly for the regular-route bus network.  As these meetings move forward, I will continue to advocate for increased transit options and routes in the east metro.
