DENNIS SMITH SWORN IN AS STATE REPRESENTATIVE

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Dennis Smith (R-Maple Grove) was officially sworn in to his first term as a state representative on Tuesday, January 6, after taking the oath of office administered by Chief Justice Lori Gildea. Smith, an attorney, replaces retiring representative Kurt Zellers in representing House District 34B – encompassing central and western Maple Grove and Osseo – at the Capitol in St. Paul.

“I am excited to represent the interests of hardworking families in District 34B and across Minnesota in the new Republican majority,” said Smith, “and am looking forward to working with my colleagues to implement policies that improve the lives of all Minnesotans.”

Smith will serve on the Capital Investment, Commerce & Regulatory Reform, Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance and Civil Law & Data Practices committees, where he will serve as Vice Chair.
