RELEASE: Wills begins second term in Saint Paul

Tuesday, January 6, 2015
SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Anna Wills, R-Apple Valley, was officially sworn-in for her second term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2015 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Wills will continue representing District 57B which includes Rosemount, Coates, and portions of Apple Valley.

"I'm excited to continue working hard on behalf of the residents of Apple Valley, Rosemount, and Coates," Wills said. "During my first term, I made an effort to find bipartisan solutions on issues that matter to Minnesota families. I plan to continue that work, and build on it using the experience gained during my first two years."

During her first term, Wills chief authored a bipartisan proposal to provide tax credits to businesses who hire veterans as an effort to reduce the veteran unemployment rate and plans to continue to pursue the proposal in the 2015 Session. She also co-authored a provision that eventually was passed into law that will help ISD196 save more than $500,000 per year, and helped secure both Bonding and Legacy Amendment funding for the Minnesota Zoo, which is located in her district.

Wills, who was first elected in 2012, will serve on the Education Finance Committee, the Education Innovation Policy Committee, the Legacy Funding Finance Committee, and the powerful Taxes Committee.

Wills lives in Apple Valley with her husband, Rob.
