RELEASE: Peterson sworn in as State Representative

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Roz Peterson, R-Lakeville, was officially sworn-in for her first term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2015 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Peterson will represent District 56B which includes portions of Lakeville and Burnsville.
 
"It's such an honor to represent our great community in St. Paul, and I'm excited for what lays ahead for the 2015 session," Peterson said. "Growing good-paying jobs, improving our education system, and getting health care costs under control will be three of the top priorities in 2015, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides on meaningful solutions that will address these and other important issues."
 
Peterson, who was elected to her first term this past November, was named Vice Chair Health and Human Services Reform Committee last month. She will also serve on the Education Finance Committee and the Education Innovation Policy Committee.
 
Peterson lives in Lakeville with her husband Tim. They have two children. Peterson is a small business owner and former chair of the Lakeville School Board.
