RELEASE: Uglem sworn in for second term

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Mark Uglem, R-Champlin, was officially sworn-in for his second term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2015 session in St. Paul. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the House chamber, and members took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea. Uglem will continue representing District 36A which includes all of Champlin and parts of Coon Rapids.
 
"I'm grateful to have earned the trust of our community to serve a second term," Uglem said. "I look forward to building on the work done in my first term that helped our community, and working to put forward meaningful solutions to the important issues facing us in the 2015 session."
 
In his first term, Uglem authored legislation to help Champlin secure bonding dollars for the first time in the city's history to rebuild the Champlin Mill Pond Dam. He also collaborated on legislation to secure funding to replace the Armstrong Interchange along Highway 10.
 
Uglem, who was first elected in 2012, will serve on the Capital Investment Committee, the Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee, and the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee. He lives in Champlin with his wife, Pam, and works as a manufacturing business consultant. He previously served three terms as the Mayor of Champlin, and as a member of the Champlin City Council.
