The legislative session is just around the corner, and Republicans have been hard at work preparing for what should be a productive 2015. With balance restored to state government in St. Paul, Minnesotans can be assured that Republicans are ready to work hard on your behalf and focus on the problems Minnesotans care about. Making sure every tax dollar is used effectively and efficiently, growing Minnesota's economy by increasing good-paying jobs, and focusing on improvements to roads and bridges are just a few of the key areas of focus as we look ahead to the coming year.
I was honored last month to have been elected by my colleagues as the next Speaker of the House. It's a tremendous privilege, and a role I take very seriously as we look ahead to 2015-2016.
My primary duty as a state legislator is to serve my district, and that important job remains my top priority.
