ST. PAUL, MN—Rep. Jerry Hertaus, R-Greenfield, announced today his committee assignments for the 2015-2016 legislative session. Hertaus, who will begin his second term in January, will serve on four House committees: Education Finance, Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division, Public Safety & Crime Prevention Policy and Finance, and the Mining & Outdoor Recreation Policy Committee. Hertaus served previously on the Education Finance and Property Tax Committees during the 2013-2014 legislative sessions. Committee assignments were chosen by Speaker-designate Kurt Daudt, R-Crown.
"I'm looking forward to continuing my past work on the Education Finance and Property Tax Committees by working to improve our education system for Minnesota students and working to curb property tax increases for families, attributable to local spending and budgets adopted by cities, townships, school districts and county governments" Hertaus said. "Additionally, I look forward to serving on two new committee appointments, the Mining and Outdoor Recreation Committee and the Public Safety Committee as a member of the House Majority."
