ST. PAUL, Minn.—State Rep. Dan Fabian, R-Roseau, was recently appointed as Vice Chair of the Minnesota House Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee for the 2015 and 2016 legislative sessions.
Fabian says the committee holds funding and policy jurisdiction over areas such as the Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and renewable and nuclear energy.
“Environmental and natural resource issues are big concerns for folks in rural Minnesota. I look forward to working on solutions that protect the rights and pocketbooks of property and home owners across the state,” said Fabian.
“One of my major goals as vice chair is to strongly encourage the DNR and MPCA to work harder with more commonsense to solve and avoid problems with individuals and communities,” Fabian continued. “Both agencies need to be less about punishing and more about partnering.”
In addition to his vice chairmanship, Fabian will also serve as the Majority Caucus Whip. The 2015 legislative session begins Tuesday, January 6.
