PRESS RELEASE

FABIAN NAMED A “GUARDIAN OF SMALL BUSINESS”

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The National Federation of Independent Business Minnesota recently named State Rep. Dan Fabian (R-Roseau) a “Guardian of Small Business”. The prestigious recognition is awarded to lawmakers who voted on the side of small businesses during the 2013-2014 legislative sessions.

“Representative Fabian is a real friend of small business and we are happy to announce that he has earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award,” said Mike Hickey, State Director.

Most notably, Rep. Fabian stood against $2.1 billion in new taxes, and he opposed new health care policy that increases insurance premium costs, especially on small businesses.

He was also instrumental in bringing much-needed workforce housing to the region and successfully repealing three new job-crushing business-to-business taxes.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from the NFIB. During my travels across District 1A, the resounding message from small and large business owners, farmers, residents, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and local elected officials is: it’s hard to make ends meet with such high and over-burdensome taxes, fees and regulations,” said Rep. Fabian.

“I hope folks know that I’m listening and working to the best of my ability to rein in government and promote the private sector. For Minnesota to thrive, we need to create a business climate that helps—not hurts—folks of all sectors,” concluded Rep. Fabian.

NFIB is the state’s largest small business group, with 13,000 members statewide.
