Robotics Conference Coming to Minnesota

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Minnesota has a reputation for innovation and entrepreneurial success. Home to 19 Fortune 500 companies, we are leaders in a number of important areas including biotech, science and technology.

Serving on the House Jobs and Economic Development Committee for the past two years, I have strived to be forward thinking and create state policies that foster job growth in the 21st Century. Limiting onerous tax policies, keeping government growth in check and repealing burdensome regulations will give everyone an opportunity to succeed right here in Minnesota.

Preparing our kids for careers in STEM fields is also key for Minnesota to remain economically competitive on a global level, and it’s wonderful to see high schools and colleges stepping up to the challenge of adapting to and teaching the latest technologies in the classroom.

Prior Lake High School has partnered with the University of Minnesota to teach robotics and strengthen their STEM education. Ground-breaking initiatives like that will benefit students and the state for years to come, and it’s great to see that happening right in our own backyard.

But for those looking to advance their career or learn more about robotics and engineering now, the fourth annual Robotics Expo and Conference will take place this September in Minneapolis. The conference will also feature a career fair and attendees will be able to hear how robotics advancements impact everything from agriculture to defense to health care.

For more information on the conference and career fair, you can check out their website here. It takes place September 16-17 at the Minneapolis Marriott.

As always, it is a privilege to represent you in Saint Paul. If I can ever be of assistance to you on a matter of state government, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Representative Tony Albright
