Legislative Update (July 15, 2014)

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Dear Neighbor,

Recently, KSTP broke the news on the Minnesota Department of Human Services settling a lawsuit for $295,000 with a whistleblower who is former department employee. It’s time for Governor Dayton to take more responsibility for the actions of his administration and be more engaged with what’s happening with this particular state agency given its fair share of troubles.

COMMON CORE

On Thursday, July 24, Chris Daniels of Minnesotans Against Common Core will be speaking about the problems of Common Core at the Coon Rapids Evangelical Free Church (2650 128th Ave NW) at 7:00 p.m. Specific issues that will be discussed include high-stakes testing, reduction in college readiness, and removal of parental and local control.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

It was great to see so many of you at the Coon Rapids Independence Day celebration as well as at Andover’s Family Fun Fest! I hope you’re enjoying the summer!

Based on state law, I can no longer send out legislative e-mail updates and mass mailings after today through November 4. However, I can still respond to individual constituent e-mails and letters. Please feel free to contact my office with any questions, comments, and concerns you may have in the coming months.

You can contact me by e-mail at Rep.Peggy.Scott@House.MN or call my office at 651-296-4231. You can also send me mail to my office address: 201 State Office Building, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155.

Sincerely,

Peggy
