News from Representative Hertaus 07-15-2014

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Dear Friends,

This will be my last email update for 2014. Under state law, legislators are prohibited from using mass emails or mailings after July 15th through November 4th that originate from taxpayer funded state resources here in St. Paul.

In the meantime I am able to respond to questions, comments, or other requests for assistance via email, phone, or letter, so please don't hesitate to contact me at rep.jerry.hertaus@house.mn, by phone at 651-296-9188, or sending me a letter at

Rep. Jerry Hertaus
315 State Office Building
100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
St. Paul, MN, 55155

It's been an honor and my privilege to represent western Hennepin County for the past two years. I'm proud of the many bipartisan accomplishments over the past two years, including increased school lunch funding for low-income students, my bill to allow dentists to administer flu vaccines, and the emergency assistance for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) during the propane crisis earlier this year.

I was proud to stand up for hardworking taxpayers, opposing exorbitant tax increases upon families and small businesses to pay for millions of dollars of unnecessary and wasteful spending.

Record-setting 12% all-funds spending increases simply aren't necessary or sustainable and I will continue voting to ensure your tax dollars are always spent prudently in St. Paul. You know it is necessary to manage your dollars wisely with your family budget, you deserve a state government that is fiscally responsible and does the same.

I hope you'll keep in touch, and please contact me if I can be of assistance to you on any legislative issue.

Have a great summer,

Jerry Hertaus
State Representative, District 33A
