HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES BILL PROVIDES NURSING HOME RATE INCREASE
ST. PAUL – The Health and Human Services conference committee is wrapping up at the Capitol, and has finalized legislation to provide a 5% increase for nursing homes in 2014 and a 3.5% increase in 2015.
Rep. Patti Fritz (DFL-Faribault) released the following statement:
“Nursing homes desperately need this 5% increase, and I have been a strong advocate for delivering the increase this year. Despite making an overall $50 million reduction to the Health and Human Services budget, we are able to provide nursing homes this much-needed money. This rate increase will help to reduce caregiver turnover and improve the quality of care to our seniors in district 24b.”
