News from Representative Uglem 06-13-2014

Friday, June 13, 2014

Dear Friends,

I hope you've been out enjoying the great weather we've been having so far this summer. It's been great to be out in the community talking with constituents about our work during the 2014 session, and even taking some time to go fishing up North over the past few weeks. I wanted to send along a brief update on events from the past few weeks. As always, don't hesitate to contact me at rep.mark.uglem@house.mn or call my office at 651-296-5513 if you have questions or comments, or if I can be of any assistance.

Town Hall Meeting
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the town hall meeting Senator Hoffman and I hosted last weekend. I know how busy everyone's lives are, and it means a lot that you would take the time to come out to ask questions and hear about the 2014 session. It was great to update constituents on the work we did and the things we accomplished for the community, and I enjoyed the thoughtful questions and discussion that followed.

I will be scheduling another town hall meeting in Coon Rapids sometime in July and will be sure to send along details as soon as they are finalized. If you weren't able to attend but have questions, please feel free to contact me via phone or email.

City Council Recognizes Dam Efforts
Last Monday Senator Hoffman and I attended a City Council meeting where we were recognized by the Mayor and council members for our work to secure funding for the Champlin Mill Pond Dam. This was a victory made possible by the work of dozens of individuals at the state and city level, and I'm grateful to all those who helped make it a reality. This is the first time ever that Champlin has received bonding dollars from the state, and as someone who has worked on this project for many years dating back to my time as Mayor of Champlin, I'm proud we were finally able to get it done.

Father's Day
I also wanted to send along special greetings for a Happy Father's Day this Sunday. Being a father is one of the best jobs in the world, and this weekend is a chance to recognize dads, granddads, and all the men who help shape the lives of our children and grandchildren. I hope you enjoy some time with your family to celebrate or remember the dads in your life.

Have a great weekend,

Mark
