LOHMER SECURES FUNDING FOR STATE PATROL

Wednesday, May 21, 2014
ST. PAUL – On Friday, May 16, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed House File 3172 – a bill that includes a provision put forward by Rep. Kathy Lohmer (R-Stillwater) that secures $5.949 million of funding for the State Trooper Academy.

“Because of changes to Minnesota’s public pension system, it’s anticipated we will have a slew of retirements from the State Patrol,” said Lohmer. “My provision would make sure our state has the resources it needs to train our next generation of state troopers who work hard every day to keep Minnesota’s roadways safe.”

The bill also passed the Senate and was signed by the governor on Tuesday.
