ST. PAUL – On Friday, May 16, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed House File 2490 – a bill that included two provisions authored by Rep. Kathy Lohmer (R-Stillwater) for the St. Croix Valley area.
One provision authorizes the transfer of land from the State of Minnesota to the City of Bayport in order for the city to build a fire station on a vacant site at the northeast corner of Stagecoach Trail and Fifth Avenue.
The other provision secures $3.5 million in funding for a water project in Lake Elmo that will help provide clean water to the citizens of Lake Elmo and the surrounding community.
“I’m pleased both of these provisions passed the House with broad bipartisan support,” said Lohmer. “These are important projects that will provide clean water to our citizens and also help keep our community safe.”
The bill also passed the Senate on Friday morning. The legislation now awaits Governor Dayton’s signature.
