Precinct caucuses tomorrow

Monday, February 3, 2014

Dear Neighbor,

Precinct caucuses will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday, a great chance for you to exercise your voice by participating in grass-roots politics.

It is important for local citizens to be active in this process and I encourage you to attend, regardless of party affiliation. Caucus participants elect precinct officers, discuss issues and ideas for the party to support, conduct a straw poll for governor, elect delegates for the political conventions and vote on assorted other items of business.

This is an opportunity for caucus veterans to invite friends and family who may not be familiar with how things work. It also is a good time to expose young people to the process to help them prepare for being fully involved when they reach voting age.

The Minnesota Secretary of State’s website provides information about precinct caucuses. You can just punch in your address and meeting locations will appear. Good luck and I hope you are able to attend your caucus meeting Tuesday.

Sincerely,

Bud
