ZELLERS STATEMENT ON THE SENATE LEGISLATIVE OFFICE BUILDING

Friday, April 4, 2014
ST. PAUL – State Representative Kurt Zellers (R-Maple Grove) released the following statement today after the House Rules Committee meeting on the Senate Legislative Office Building:

“Today at the Capitol, House Democrats showed hardworking Minnesota taxpayers that they prioritize politicians’ offices and parking over the needs of the people they represent. In short, they made the office space for the politicians larger, eliminated the parking for the public and will now have office spaces in two separate buildings.

I have long supported renovating and repairing our beautiful State Capitol. Now, that restoration is in serious jeopardy because Democrats can’t decide how many offices they need at the State Capitol. Legislative Democrats and Governor Dayton should scrap these plans and apologize to the taxpayers of the state for wasting time and good money on this monument to their own political egos.”
