St. Paul, Minnesota — Yesterday, Rep. JoAnn Ward (DFL - Woodbury) met with Governor Mark Dayton to discuss the state budget. Governor Dayton announced today that he is dropping business-to-business taxes from his budget.
“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Governor and to share my concerns on his business tax proposals,” said Rep. Ward. “As a former businesswoman, I understand that taxing these services may harm our local economies and have unintended consequences.”
“Governor Dayton was very receptive to input on various budget proposals and I am reassured by his change in course on the business-to-business tax issue. I look forward to working with the Governor to continue to come to a final agreement that responsibly funds our state’s priorities, looks to the future, and keeps Minnesota economically competitive.”
