REP. FRITZ STATEMENT ON FEBRUARY BUDGET FORECAST

Thursday, February 28, 2013

ST. PAUL, MN – The February budget forecast has been released and shows a projected budget deficit of $627 million for fiscal years 2014-15.  The previous November budget forecast showed a projected deficit of $1.1 billion.

State Representative Patti Fritz (DFL-Faribault) released the following statement:

“I am encouraged that our state budget is in a better place now that it was a few months ago.  While there is still a budget deficit, I am confident that we will be able to close the budget gap and fund Minnesota’s priorities.

“I am hopeful that this budget situation will be more conducive to my efforts to increase funding for Minnesota nursing homes and long-term care facilities that are in a state of financial crisis.  Funding our nursing homes will continue to grow the economy, create Greater Minnesota jobs and improve the health and well-being of our seniors.”

Rep. Fritz can be reached by phone at (651) 296-8237 or by email at rep.patti.fritz@house.mn.
