Rep. Dehn's 2013 Legislative Survey: Budget, Tax Reform, Jobs and More

Friday, February 22, 2013

Dear neighbors,

As your voice at the State Capitol, I depend on your input and ideas to make well-informed decisions about the big challenges facing our state.

That’s why I’m excited to invite you to take my 2013 legislative survey. It’s an opportunity for you to tell me your thoughts about how we can balance our budget, reform our tax code, create good jobs, and make Minnesota’s business climate more competitive. Click here to take my survey.

I’m also excited to announce that I recently launched a Facebook page where you can get updates and share feedback about my work at the Legislature. I’ll be posting photos, videos, announcements about town hall meetings and more. Click here to ‘like’ my Facebook page.

Earlier this week, I was on Minnesota Public Radio to talk about life as a freshman legislator. It’s been nearly two months since I was sworn into office, but every day I’m learning more about the legislative process so I can be an effective advocate for our communities. Click here to listen to my interview on MPR.

This week I also joined TakeAction Minnesota and the St. Paul NAACP to announce formal complaints filed against Target Corporation for unfair hiring practices. Specifically, the complaints allege discrimination against people of color who happen to have a criminal record in their past. This is an issue I worked on before I was elected and one I plan to continue pushing as a State Representative. I am hopeful that if we keep at it, we can give people with records a chance at being hired and reduce racial employment disparities.

If you have family, friends, or co-workers who would like to receive email updates like this one, please let them know they can sign up on my website at www.house.mn/59B.

Sincerely,

Raymond Dehn
State Representative, District 59B
