ST. PAUL, MN – Today Rep. Carly Melin (DFL-Hibbing) and Rep. Jason Metsa (DFL-Virginia) welcomed St. Louis County residents to the state capitol.
The annual visit gives hundreds of residents from northeastern Minnesota an opportunity to connect with their elected officials and legislators from across the state.
“Active citizen involvement and participation in government is key to a strong democracy,” said Rep. Melin. “I’m excited to see familiar faces, meet with constituents, and listen to ideas about how we can move our state forward.”
“We depend on input from Minnesotans to make well-informed decisions,” added Rep. Metsa. “The votes we take at the Capitol have a big impact on their everyday lives. Whether it’s job creation initiatives or reforms to our tax code, I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak with my constituents face-to-face about the big challenges facing our state.”
After meeting with constituents during the day, both Rep. Melin and Rep. Metsa plan to attend the Grand Reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel later in the evening.
