Rep. Joyce Peppin and Sen. Warren Limmer invite area residents to February 15 listening sessions

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

State Sen. Warren Limmer and State Rep. Joyce Peppin invite area residents to attend a local listening session on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Maple Grove, Rogers and Dayton. The legislators look forward to discussing issues important to the northwest suburbs as well as the upcoming legislative session.

“As your elected officials, we are here to serve the people and priorities of the northwest suburbs,” Sen. Limmer said. “Listening sessions give us the opportunity to speak one-on-one about the issues that are important to our area. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend.”

“There have already been nearly 300 bills proposed for the 2014 legislative session, some of them controversial, such as higher transportation taxes, minimum wage increases, the legalization of medical marijuana and bailout funding for MNsure,” Rep. Peppin said. “It’s important for us to hear from people in Maple Grove, Rogers and Dayton so we can effectively advocate for their concerns at the State Capitol.”
