Caucus Night in Minnesota is February 4th

Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Dear Friends,

A week from today is precinct caucus night in Minnesota. Minnesotans of all political affiliations will gather in schools, church basements, and other locations across the state to make their voices heard and continue Minnesota's great tradition of civic participation and engagement in elections.

Minnesotans are uniquely engaged and passionate about their involvement in the political process; I'm proud that Minnesota has among the highest voter participation rates in the country and that we're willing to brave sub-zero temperatures to sit for a couple of hours on a cold February night to gather with our friends and neighbors to debate and discuss the issues of the day and the future of our respective political parties.

Caucus-goers will have a hand in choosing candidates for several offices for the upcoming election including Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor, United States Senate, and US House of Representatives. They will also propose and debate amendments to their respective party platforms and elect party precinct officers.

Caucus night is the chance for you to make your voice heard. If you're passionate about an issue, supporting a candidate for office, or just want to gather with like-minded neighbors, I encourage you to take time next Tuesday, February 4th, to attend your party's precinct caucus.

To find your party's caucus site, please visit the Secretary of State's Caucus-finder tool at: caucusfinder.sos.state.mn.us, or by clicking here.

Take care and stay warm,

Kurt
