Representative Slocum Named ‘Champion For Racial Justice’

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

(ST. PAUL) — State Representative Linda Slocum (DFL – Richfield/Bloomington) received an “A” grade on her Racial Equity Report Card from the Organizing Apprenticeship Project. She will receive a “Racial Justice Champion” award on January 30.

During the 2012 legislative session Slocum supported legislation that would have a positive impact on racial disparities in education, health, or the economic status of communities of color.

“Fairness is one of my core beliefs. Throughout my time in the state legislature I have advocated for racial equity and community-based solutions that make Minnesota stronger,” said Slocum. “During this session and in the future, I will continue to work with and on the behalf of communities of color.”

Slocum has received an “A” on her Racial Equity Report Card each year since 2008.
