STATE REP. SUSAN ALLEN APPOINTED VICE-CHAIR OF HOUSE CIVIL LAW COMMITTEE

ST. PAUL, MN. – State Representative Susan Allen (DFL–Mpls.) has been appointed by Speaker-Elect Paul Thissen to serve as Vice-Chair of the Civil Law Committee in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Additionally, Allen was picked to serve on several key House Committees including: Heath and Human Services Finance, Health and Human Services Policy, and the Energy Policy Committees for the 2013-14 Session.

“I’m very excited to be assigned to these important committees and for the opportunity to help shape legislation in areas that will directly impact the residents of District 62B,” said Rep. Allen. “The Civil Law Committee is where a wide range of issues dealing with children and families, courts, laws and legal issues, and constitutional amendments are debated. I am eager to bring a new voice to the discussion,” added Allen.

Allen, a tax and Indian law attorney, is committed to building a better and stronger future for the diverse families, school kids, businesses and senior citizens she represents.

“Affordable health care for all is a priority and the 2013 session will be critical to the direction we as Minnesotans want to take our state. I pledge to focus on the issues that unite us and move us forward into shared prosperity. These committee assignments will allow me to help shape laws that impact the daily lives of my constituents,” said Allen.
