Dear neighbor,
On Wednesday, the board of MNsure – the Minnesota arm of Obamacare – held their first meeting since beginning its open enrollment process. MNsure officials say that 3,769 people are in the process of enrolling.
However, the important number to remember is ZERO. Zero Minnesotans have completed enrollment in a health plan through MNsure. Officials from MNsure say they have been unable to transfer application information into health plans and confirmed payments cannot be processed. Without completing this process, a person is not actually enrolled in a health plan through MNsure. The longer these problems persist with MNsure, the fewer people will actually get insurance and the higher health insurance tax is going to be on plans sold through MNsure in future years.
I was also quite disturbed to learn that Planned Parenthood, Minnesota’s largest abortion provider, received $150,333 in a taxpayer-funded grant to do promotional work for MNsure. Planned Parenthood received this money after being named one of 30 “trusted community organizations” that MNsure has tasked to help promote enrollment. I believe that life is sacred and we should be working toward protecting unborn life instead of supporting organizations with taxpayer dollars that work toward the opposite goal.
Although the legislature is not currently in session, I can still be reached via email at rep.steve.green@house.mn. To contact me by phone, call (651) 296-9918. Mail can be sent to Rep. Steve Green, 231 State Office Building, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, Minnesota 55155.
Sincerely,
Steve
