PRESS RELEASE
STATEMENT ON GREEN VALLEY FIRE
As many of you know our district has experienced major fire damage. According to reports, over 7100 acres have been scorched in the Menahga and Park Rapids area. I watched troubling news clips coming in Tuesday and Wednesday. I knew people had losses but had no details. Wednesday evening I attended a public meeting in Menahga. The Forestry service indicated the fire is 25% contained. Unfortunately, the losses are significant. 12 residences, 2 commercial properties, and 41 outbuildings have been destroyed.
