HOUSE BRIEFS

Email Update -- Feb. 16, 2012

Dear neighbors,

The legislature is about to wrap up its fourth week of session and bills continue to make their way through committees. On Wednesday, Governor Dayton delivered his State of the State Address outlining his proposals to put Minnesotans back to work, reform government, and improve Minnesota’s workforce.

I applaud Governor Dayton’s message from his speech: we must leave this state better than we found it. More than ever, Minnesotans want us to leave distractions like constitutional amendments aside and focus on issues that matter to them: creating jobs, rebuilding a strong middle class, and improving schools for our children.

With 168,000 Minnesotans out of work, it’s time for serious actions on jobs. Governor Dayton and DFLers have introduced a jobs plan filled with common-sense ways to get tens of thousands of Minnesotans back to work and ensure that Minnesota companies and workers can compete in today’s economy.

It’s time to get to work and do what’s best for the people we were elected to serve. I hope my colleagues will join us in this goal.

As session continues to move along, I welcome input on these or any other legislative issues. Thank you again for the honor of serving you in the legislature.

Sincerely,

Leon Lillie
State Representative
District 55A
