News from Representative Petersburg 04-08-2013

Monday, April 8, 2013

Dear Friends,

This week, we're starting the home stretch of the 2013 legislative session. Committees are continuing to examine the omnibus budget bills that will comprise the vast majority of the 2014-2015 biennium budget.

Much of our committee work in the coming weeks will be focused on examining these budget bills. Each bill is hundreds of pages long, containing scores of individual pieces of legislation rolled into one large bill. There are obviously good and bad parts of each omnibus bill, and I will be weighing the merits of all of the budget bills as a whole when they come to the floor next month.

As always, I welcome your input on these budget bills, as well as the other pieces of legislation that we will be debating in the final two months of session.

Survey Reminder
If you haven't had the chance to take my 2013 legislative survey yet, I hope you will take a moment to share your thoughts and comments with me by filling out the survey online here.

Your input will be tremendously helpful as we enter the final weeks of session. The pace is going to pick up significantly, so I want to know where you stand on the important topics that we'll be debating.

Have a great week,

John Petersburg
