HOUSE REPUBLICANS BRING JOB CREATORS TO CAPITOL FOR STATE OF THE STATE

Rep. Chris Swedzinski Extended Ceremonial Invitation to Local Job Creators

St. Paul – As part of the governor’s annual report to the legislature, House Republicans invited dozens of Minnesota’s job creators to join them in the House chamber for the speech. Members are traditionally allotted an extra ticket to bring a family member, friend, or important official from their district. GOP lawmakers opted to invite local business owners from their districts as part of their effort to grow Minnesota’s economy.

Rep. Chris Swedzinski (R-Ghent) was joined on the House floor by Jon Knochenmus, President of Ralco Nutrition (Marshall) and Kevin Wald, CEO of Ritalka, Inc. (Montevideo). Swedzinski extended the invitation to the two because of their businesses’ local economic impact in southwestern Minnesota. Knochenmus and Wald joined other small business owners in a roundtable discussion on job creation with Rep. Swedzinski and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt before the State of the State speech.

“Getting Minnesotans back to work and creating good jobs for the future is a key priority for me at the Capitol this session and these two businesses exemplify the type of job creators we want to encourage with our policies,” said Swedzinski. “I am honored to join my colleagues in bringing these important community leaders to St. Paul and proud to support their work to power our economic engine into the future.”

Ralco Nutrition is a third-generation global family business that provides advanced technologies for agriculture through animal nutrition, animal health, and enhanced plant performance. Ritalka, Inc. is a holding company for two businesses providing engineering, manufacturing and electronic services to various industries and has locations in several southwest Minnesota communities.

Rep. Chris Swedzinski is a second-term legislator from Ghent and has co-authored legislation in the 2013 session to create jobs by revising tax laws governing local cities (HF 314) and a bill to enhance a state private investment program with new tax incentives for businesses (HF 154).
